Makeup Revolution I ♥ Makeup Lip Lava’s are the latest product to join my growing lipcolour stash! These are pitched as a liquid lipstick, and are available in the five different shades. Of the five shades I have three; Forgiven a pale brown based nude, Unleash which is a fabulous hot neon orange and Tremor a pretty baby pink. There is also a red shade called Firestorm and a purple yes purple shade called Shockwave; both look super pigmented too from what I’ve seen on the website!
Makeup Revolution’s I ♥ Makeup Lip Lava contains Vitamin E to help keep your lips soft and hydrated. The colours are as I said earlier super pigmented and last really well. I found the colours to be a semi-matte finish, which I personally like. The colour lasted around 3 hours before they needed re-applying; and once they have worn off you are left with a stain on your lips. A little tip for you; if you don’t have your Lip Lava with you when it wears off you can pop a little lip balm over the stain instead. This makes your lips look fabulous :)
Of the three colours I have my go-to is currently Forgiven. This colour is great for a simple everyday look especially when I’m in a rush getting the little lady to school. I’ve worn Tremor more at the weekends, it’s a lovely soft baby pink shade. This teamed with some mascara and a winged eyeliner does the trick perfectly. Now Unleash is a colour I can see myself wearing all Summer. It’s the perfect neon orange which I think will look fabulous with a tan. I’d say this will be my pick-me-up colour when it’s warm out and I don’t want to put too much makeup on. A bright lip makes the whole face come alive don’t you think!
I’m really pleased with the Makeup Revolution I ♥ Makeup Lip Lava and they are the bargain price of £2.99 each! You simply can’t go wrong. My only criticism would be the colour name is only printed on the boxes, Makeup Revolution hasn’t had the names printed on the tubes. I personally like to keep my products in their boxes but I know not everyone does this. You can find the Lip Lava as well as other fabulous products via the link below -

As I said on my last LUSH post (LINK), we had popped into our local Zurich store and picked up a few bits for ourselves and the little lady. We ended up buying far more than we actually needed however this did mean we came home with a lovely selection (and our bathroom smells amazing!).
Here are the LUSH bath products we bought -
Bath Bombs -
* Shoot for the Stars
* Sex Bomb
* Floating Flower (Part of the Valentines Collection)
We also had Space Girl Bath Bomb and Love Locket Bath Bomb (which is part of the Valentines Collection). Both are not pictured as we used them during our stay in Zurich. I'll try to bring you reviews on them in time.
Which are your favourite LUSH products?

Today I have another eye shadow palette from the ever popular cosmetic brand Makeup Revolution. This is the Day to Night Palette and it contains 12 highly pigmented colours. You get a combination of shimmery eye shadows in the palette, so you can create a variety of looks using just one palette. Or you can simply sweep one of the colours over your eyelids for a quick wash of colour when you’re in a hurry.
The Day part of the palette (to the right) has a good selection of natural nude, taupe, and brown shades, while the Night end of the palette (to the left) has a fabulous choice of darker purples, grey-blacks and greeny-blues. You can use these over your natural shades to give your eyes a wonderfully smoky look for an evening out.
The colour payoff is good for most of the colours. I swatched these on my hand without using a primer, but on my eyelids I would definitely use my primer to make sure these don’t budge. I loved all of the colours in the Day to Night Palette. I did find two of the colours didn’t swatch well, these were the teal green (colour 12) and the grey (colour 10). This isn’t bad considering the price of the palette! Overall the texture of the eye shadows is very good, they are light to the touch and creamy - no chalky shadows here! I also found they had little or no fallout which was very pleasing.
I will bring you some further posts with close-up colour swatches from the Day to Night Palette, so do keep an eye out for those (pardon the pun!)

The truth is, not every beauty product you try as a blogger is one you will fall in love with and rave about. Sadly this mascara didn’t hit the mark for me, but before we get into that lets look at the IsaDora Cosmetics ‘Precision Mascara’ in 10 Deep Black.
This mascara was sent to me a while ago. I’ve been “living with it” (or perhaps I should say persevering with it) for a respectable length of time, testing with different combinations of other cosmetics.
The packaging is very sleek with it’s mix of gloss black tubing and silver lettering. I think this looks very luxurious with the ‘IsaDora’ silver branding embossed on the lid. The mascara tube is slim, which gives you a hint of how small the mascara wand is going to be. Upon opening the mascara you discover the wand is one of those slimline rubbery types, you know the ones with no bristles (I do hope you’re following me hehe!).
The product texture is nice and smooth, and also incredibly black! IsaDora Precision Mascara really does lengthen lashes, as well as the wand grabbing every single lash making your eyes appear wide and bright.
Now as I said at the beginning, this sadly didn’t hit the mark. Perhaps I expect alot from mascara. I’m up early for the school run and don’t normally take my makeup off much before 10pm. This mascara (unlike my previous brand) had left me with very obvious black smudges on my under eye area, and this was before midday. I normally find IsaDora products a real pleasure to use. Unfortunately if this particular one can’t even make it past mid day, then I’m afraid it’s destined for the bin.
Have you tried the IsaDora Precision Mascara?
I’d love to know what you think of it xx

I love a little nail art every now and again.
Today I have a couple of nail art looks that are super cute for Valentines Day. They incorporate hearts and a selection of pink and creamy colours - naturally. I’ve used polishes from my vast collection, including ones from OPI, Essie, Alessandra and China Glaze.
I hope you like them and find them inspiring for a Valentine you may have.

I haven’t published many ‘Home Decor’ posts recently but today I have one for you all.
Last March we moved into our new house. We spent hours online and in-store searching for the perfect ceiling lights to go into our townhouse. Having lived abroad for so long, we had no light fittings to use as a ‘make do until we find something nicer’.
All we knew was that if we didn’t find some we liked, on move day we’d just have lightbulbs hanging from our ceilings - Not pretty!!
Our bathrooms, halls and kitchen have recessed LED spotlights, which were fitted by the building company. So we just had to buy some for our living areas, bedrooms and office. The ones we selected compliment the colour schemes we’d opted for in our soft furnishings.

Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator is my latest go-to base product. This product is a multi use illuminator; it can be worn to highlight areas of your face or mixed with your regular foundation. Revlon Photoready Skinlights Illuminator is available in 4 colours; Bare Light, Bronze Light, Pink Light and Peach Light; each tinted to suit every complexion. I have the colour ‘Bare Light’ which is a neutral tone, neither warm nor cool. I haven’t really used Skinlights as a highlighter much, I’ve applied it on my brow bones to highlight them instead of using a powder product, and really loved the result.
I’ve been using Skinlights with my favourite foundation. I don’t mix them together as Revlon suggests. I apply Skinlights thinly over my face with my fingers, then with my buffing brush I apply my foundation (I’m currently back to using the Clinique Pore Refining Foundation). For me this technique works wonderfully, resulting in a perfectly radiant yet dewy finish.
I’m very impressed with Revlon’s Photoready Skinlights Illuminator, have you tried these yet?

This weeks nails are by China Glaze Nail Polish and are part of the Holographic range of colours. This particular colour is called Galactic Gray. I’d best describe it as a dark grey base with a rainbow holographic finish. It really is a lovely colour to wear and is very eye catching due to the multi-tonal colours that shine through. I’ve found China Glaze to be wonderful to apply, and to date I’ve never had any issues with the formula or longevity of the colours. I’ve applied Galactic Gray over the top of my OPI Start to Finish (Base and Top Coat in one) followed by two coats of colour. This colour dried quickly and lasted very well on my natural nails. Have you tried any China Glaze polishes yet?
Be back soon with more nail colours xx
