'Fading PolkaDots' Nails

Todays nail look is Fading Polkadots
I love polkadot nail art, it's one of my favourites: quick, simple and very effective. For this particular look I've started on my thumb nail, adding lots of polkadots. Then as I get closer to my little finger I've placed less and less polkadots to give a fading look. The colour combination also works really well - nice and girly don't you think?

Fading Polkadots uses Essence Nail Candies in 06 Soda Pop & Candy Shop as my base. For the polkadots I've used OPI Nail Lacquer in 'Most Honorable Red' NLJ12

I hope you liked this design and I'll be back soon xx

Nailderella

Q1 - Who are you?
Hi I'm Karine the blogger behind Nailderella. I started my blog because I was so enthusiastic about nail polishes I wanted to share my passion with others and blogging was a good way of doing it. I've  met so many awesome people thanks to the blog so far that I feel blessed and have no regret starting this adventure!
Apart from polishes, I also love skin care products! This addiction (yeah, that's an addiction...)  started about 1 year ago and now I love looking at ingredients to chose products. I especially love Korean products. They have so many awesome items at affordable price.

Colour 4 - Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette

***IT’S #MAKEUPMONDAY AGAIN***

This Monday we’re taking a closer look at colour 4 in the Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette.
Colour 4 is a super shimmery bronze, it’s absolutely gorgeous and is again one of my favourites from this palette. The colour payoff is fabulous and true to what you see in the palette. Also we are getting into the darker shades of this palette I found it have no fallout. Which naturally I was very impressed with.

If you missed the previous swatches from the Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette you can see them here - Colour 1 // Colour 2 // Colour 3
See you again next Monday for more swatches xx

L'Oreal Color Riche - J Lo's Nude

This weeks 'Nails of the day' comes in the form of L'Oreal Paris Color Riche 'Exclusive By'. Sadly this range of colours is not available in the UK but I wanted to write about it for my readers overseas.  So this is going to be a short but sweet post.  J Lo's Nude is a neutral toned grey so perfect for every skin tone.  The wide thin brushes are designed to distribute the perfect amount of colour onto the nails; which is one of the reasons I love L'Oreal's Color Riche range. J Lo's Nude needed just two thin coats for a flawless opaque finish. I also found the polish lasted really well and was extremely shiny without topcoat! I'll be back again soon with another Nails of the Day post as I seem to have accumulated a lot of new polishes recently!?! Stay Polished x

L'Occitane En Provence - Dry Skin Hand Cream

I’m Hannah and I have a L’Occitane Hand Cream problem!

I seriously have these all over our house! No lie, I’ve got one on each floor of our townhouse and spares incase my reserves run low. When we travelled through T5 last year I bought 3 of the 30ml tubes as they were on offer. Then my husband then picked up the larger 150ml size when he flew a few weeks later! This particular hand cream is my dream product and here’s why…..

“Enriched with 20% Shea Butter, the super-creamy Shea Butter Hand Cream penetrates quickly to protect, nourish and moisturise hands. Honey, almond extracts and coconut oil are blended with shea butter to create this extremely effective care. The rich texture is rapidly absorbed to leave the hands soft and smooth with no oily traces.”

I think it’s pretty obvious that I love this hand cream (unless you skipped the first paragraph of this post!). I’ve said it before that I suffer with dry skin on my hands; mainly caused by  working in the hair and beauty industry. And I do find the winter months are the worse time for my poor hands. L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream works wonders on my hands. I use this as much as possible throughout the day and always make sure I apply a generous amount before bed. Considering this contains 20% Shea Butter the formula is not at all greasy on the skin which is wonderful. This particular L’Occitane hand cream smells fabulous too. It’s hard to describe but it’s similar to baby powder but not; it’s fresh and clean, not floral. You’ll have to go smell it to see what I’m mean. I have tried others from the L’Occitane Hand Cream collection but time and time again I go back to this one.

Go test it out you won’t be disappointed - or atleast I hope you won’t!

Colour 3 - Makeup Revolution 'Day to Night' Palette

Yup back again this Monday with my #MakeupMonday segment. This week it’s the turn of colour 3 from the Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette. Today’s colour is a soft taupe shade. It’s subtle with a little shimmer, and is a good everyday shade to sweep over the entire eyelid. This is one of the colours I keep reaching for right now when I’m in a hurry to get ready and out of the door for the school run!

If you missed the last colours from my new swatching posts you can see them again via the links below -

I hope your enjoying these posts, be back soon xx

Revlon Colorstay Foundation - 220 Natural Beige

Revlon Colorstay Foundation is said to be the dupe for Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation (ELDW) . Now I can’t confirm this as I’ve yet to use the ELDF but I can say this - Revlon Colorstay Foundation is fabulous!

Now lets start with the technical nitty gritty. Revlon says -
Want makeup that is flawless and weightless for 16 perfect hours? Revlon has the solution - ColorStay™ Makeup Combi/Oily. Specially formulated for combination or oily skin, this oil-free formula helps control shine all day and gives you flawless looking skin. Makeup looks fresh and feels great for up to 16 hours thanks to the lightweight, comfortable feel from the SoftFlex ColorStay™ formula.

As I’m sure you’ve guessed by the blurb above I’ve purchased the Colorstay for Combination/Oily skin. Revlon also does a formula for Normal/Dry skin too. The formula for Combination/Oily skin is oil-free so it prevents your skin appearing shiny during wear. The glass bottle is very sleek, along with a gloss black twist off lid. The bottle doesn’t come with a pump to dispense the liquid so you’ll need to be careful when opening it. I use an old concealer brush to get the product out and then pop it onto my makeup palette ready for application to my face. That way I’m not contaminating the rest of my foundation. Application is a dream, it’s smooth, velvety and feels so light on the skin. Coverage is very good and I’ve read it’s Medium to Full coverage. I apply mine very lightly so I’d say I get more of a medium coverage. Although when I have blemishes I simply put a little more on the areas I need it. You can layer it up to create a fuller coverage and it wouldn’t look cakey at all. Revlon Colorstay Foundation lasts all day, even with the lightest of coverage. It doesn’t move, flake, sink into pores or oxidize. It really is as good as people say. I’ve been wearing 220 Natural Beige and it’s the perfect match to my skin tone. Oh and this also contains an SPF 6, not the highest sun protection but its still nice to have a little there.
Have you tried out the Revlon Colorstay Foundation? How about the Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation? How do they compare, I’d love to know……...

Catrice 'Rock-o-co' Nail Polish & Blush

These are from the latest Catrice Collection called ‘Rock-O-Co’ which I purchased while in Switzerland back in January. I’m a little late getting the details of this collection to you as we’ve been mega busy with family life. So here it is, better late than never I say!

Here’s what Catrice says about the collection -
This season, the designers are looking back on the 18th century as a source of inspiration to develop new versions of fashion. An extremely detailed couture full of Rococo references such as precious brocade, playful frills and flounces, elegant satin ribbons and opulent bows. Implemented in an ultra-feminine way, yet with an inescapable strength resulting from the heavier, defined cuts of the fabrics. The Limited Edition “Rock-o-co” by CATRICEis also inspired by influences from the era of Marie Antoinette and incorporates them in a powdery beauty collection. The limited products are available in spring colours such as pastel pink, light blue, vanilla, deep pink and apricot, as well as grey-black and blue-grey for a more modern contrast.

Now can we just take a moment to look at how beautifully detailed these both are! I mean when was the last time you saw a blush look so pretty? It’s hard to even take a brush to it as you know it will spoil the pattern. And just check out the colour of the polish, perfect for Spring/Summer.

The Catrice ‘Rock-O-Co’ Powder Blush is called ‘Macarons pour Marie’ which is a soft pink shade. The colour payoff is good on fair skin but I don’t imagine I’ll use this during the summer months as it wouldn’t show. I found the blush had very little fall-out, and it felt very silky on my skin. The packaging is nice and sturdy too; the case is plastic however it’s thick so it copes well being thrown into a makeup bag when travelling. Over all I’m enjoying this blush and would certainly buy more from Catrice in the future.

Next is the Catrice Matt Nail Lacquer from the Rock-O-Co collection. This shade is called ‘Madame De Pinkadour’ and oh my is it a stunning colour! What can I say, I LOVE THIS COLOUR! ‘Madame De Pinkadour’ is a matte nail polish with a difference. Due to this shade being shimmery it drys to a semi-matte finish; meaning when the light hits it, it looks like satin. Truly beautiful! For my photos I’ve applied two coats of colour over my base; although in all honesty I could have left it with one, the coverage is amazing! Application was fairly easy considering the shape of the lid too. I thought I’d struggle holding a round lid but it turned out not to be a problem. Oh I should also remember to mention this polish dries very quickly - because it’s a matte finish :)

So there you have it. My two purchases from the Catrice Rock-O-Co collection.
Available from COOP City and Muller stores in Zurich until the end of March.

Colour 2 - Makeup Revolution 'Day to Night' Palette

It’s #MakeupMonday and as promised I’m back with the next colour from the Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette . This week we’re looking at colour 2 in the palette. This is a champagne cream shadow with a shimmer finish. It works perfectly as a sweep of colour over the eyelids. Why not also try it to highlight the brow bone or cheeks, I found it to be the ideal colour!

I’ll be back next week with colour 3 from the Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette.

Alessandro Nail Polish

(Alessandro Nagellack)

This weeks ‘Nails of the Day’ comes straight from my Zurich Haul (link). I picked these up from Manor on Bahnhofstrasse and was super pleased to have found they were on offer (reduced to 7chf each). The Alessandro colours I settled on are ‘First Blush’ and ‘Dancing Queen’.
‘First Blush’ is a fabulous colour and perfect for all year round and people who like nude tones. At first this looks like your basic off-white shade, look a little closer and you see a hint of pink; it’s really pretty. On the flip side of that I then have ‘Dancing Queen’ (seen in the pictures as my accent nail). As you can see it is a gorgeous hot pink shade, which is great for Spring/Summer. And lets face it who doesn’t like a hot pink!
Both Alessandro Nail Polishes are a creme finish and are incredibly shiny. I found ‘First Blush’ required 3 thin coats to give an even coverage. It’s slightly watery compared to ‘Dancing Queen’ which was opaque on the first application; second coat it covered perfectly. They also dry quite quickly which was good as I don’t always have time to wait for polish to dry. And they are long lasting - even without top coat {bonus}.

Colour 1 - Makeup Revolution 'Day to Night' Palette

I decided over the Christmas break that it would be a nice idea to swatch one colour per week from my eyeshadow palettes. This will give you the opportunity to view each colour properly. Rather than me blending them into makeup looks, you will be able to see each colour individually in detail. This will form part of the new #MakeupMonday segments which I will be presenting on my blog.
Fast forward several weeks and lets kick things off with the Makeup Revolution Day to Night Palette. You may have seen the full review of this palette on my blog previously, but if you missed it the link is HERE. This consists of 12 colours that are suited for day and night wear (obviously). So here is colour 1 from the palette, which is a shimmer frosty white shade -
I’ll be back next week Monday with colour 2 from this versatile palette

WELEDA 'Skin Food'

Oops I've just found I'd forgotten to schedule this into blogger........Better late then never (?!)
I discovered Weleda Skin Food last  year and have used it nearly everyday.
Weleda Skin Food contains 100% natural ingredients like lanolin and beeswax which are fabulous on dry rough skin. This cream can be used all over the body and face. It’s ultra rich formula is absorbed deep into the skin and you can see the results after using for only a day.

I’ve been using this on my body after showering in the evening, concentrating on my knees, elbows and feet. Or on my arms, shoulders and legs if I’ve been out in the sun and want an intense moisturizer to prevent my skin drying out. You must make sure it is fully soaked in before dressing as it will make your clothes stick to you!

For my face and neck, I’ve been using it as a night cream when my skin is particularly dry. Simply pat over the face, do not rub as the product will drag on your skin.  I personally found it a little too greasy for day use so only used it at night when my skin needs that extra boost.

It is also very nice as a hand and cuticle cream. I’ve used this instead of my normal cuticle oils and its softens them up wonderfully.

Weleda Skin Food is one of those ‘little goes a long way’ products so use it sparingly. I’ve had a small tub of this which I received in a beauty box and it has lasted a long time.

My top tip for using this product is to warm the tub up in your hands before use. I found it made the cream far easier to apply and it soaked in a lot quicker.
