Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother - 020

Well folks I’m back on the products from my last Zurich trip, and today is a lip product review!
This is the Catrice ‘Beautifying Lip Smoother’ in 020 Apricot Cream. I’d read about these via one of the Swiss bloggers I follow, so was pleased when I managed to locate them in COOP City.
Apricot Cream is a subtle peachy nude shade, one of those ‘almost visible’ colours. It has the prettiest peach-pink shimmer which simply enhances the lips leaving them looking healthy and plump; it’s certainly not a glittery shimmer.
Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother is dispensed via a soft sponge applicator, probably not the most hygienic applicator as you have product sitting within the sponge, however it does feel smooth and the product does go on evenly, so you can forgive them for that. The consistency is silky and creamy which is probably what makes your lips feel smoother. It’s also not what I would call a sticky lip gloss, yes it has a slight tackiness to it as you’d expect, but your lips don’t feel stuck together after application.
Lets not forget the fragrance…...sweet vanilla, simply lovely (if you like vanilla that is!), and you won’t be disappointed by the subtle hint of colour, making this perfect for everyday wear.
The only downside seems to be that  Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother isn’t long lasting, needing frequent reapplication.
These are currently available in three colours; the other two being Sweet Caramel, a nude beige tone, and Cake Pop which is a subtle pink shade.

xx

Update - Since writing this review, I’ve had to remove the sponge applicator due to it discolouring and starting to smell. I’d always had my doubts about the sponge applicator, so I always made sure to remove excess product with a clean tissue before replacing the cap. Unfortunately this hasn’t helped to overcome what is probably a design flaw.

  1. Yay! Found you again! ;-)

Eek, yeah, a smelly applicator really is not a good thing... I still think these make a great dupe for the more expensive Clarins Lip Perfector though.
