Seriously & Riotously Neon

This is the final post featuring the OPI Outrageous Neons Collection.
Today I have used 'Riotously Pink' and 'Seriously Purple'I love these colours together, they're such a fab combination.
Again I used my White Base, provided in the collection. Once it was dry I applied my two 'Neon' tones to alternate nails.
Finishing with my OPI Top Coat (also provided in the collection box)
So what do you think of the OPI Outrageous Neons?
Would you wear them?

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I have two of these fab dry shampoos by Batiste to tell you about today.

The first one is called FRESH. This was developed as a unisex dry shampoo. With a light, cool, crisp fragrance its great for both of you to share.

I bought this one mainly as its handbag size (50ml). This can go into your hand luggage when traveling as its under the 100ml allowance. So you have no reason to have dull lank hair when you arrive at your destination!

The second Batiste Dry Shampoo is
'A hint of colour' (available in a range of colours)

This is a fabulous twist on traditional dry shampoos.
Where as before you could be left with white residue
(if you were a little over zellous with the spray can),
now the powder has 'a hint of colour' so no tell-tale signs!
Result :-)

Prices range from £2.99 to £4.99 depending on the bottle size.
Check out the Batiste website for where to buy.....

Casual Studs

One for the Mum-to-be.

Studs & Spikes
If you don't like them then I'm not sure you will be buying any clothes this season.....they are everywhere! I'm not a huge fan of the spikes but I love these flat studs. Mixed with soft creamy wool you can't go wrong. This Jumper isn't too over the top with studs either, so it's very easy to wear without looking over done.

Burgundy
My NEW favourite colour. I've chosen burgundy leggings to go with the cream jumper, as it somehow looked better then black. If you're not a fan of wearing burgundy but like the colour, you'll be pleased to know this 'Shopper Basket' bag is now on sale in ZARA. It's a great size for throwing everything in for a day out!

Casual Studs

Top this look off with some cute beige ankle boots and you're good to go.

Ridiculously & Formidably Neon

When I wrote about the OPI Outrageous Neons (link) I said I would bring you the colours as 'Nails Of The Day' posts.

Well here is the first of two I will be doing......

Lets start from the beginning.
These polishes are SUPER bright, hence OPI provide you with a White Base (see below) to use before applying your chosen colour.

Once you have applied your 'base', make sure it is 100% dry before staring your colour application. If not the 'Neons' have a tendency to 'drag' the White Base.

I decided to use two polishes from this collection for each post. Today we have 'Ridiculously Yellow' and 'Formidably Orange'.

My photos were taken in natural day light and boy are they vibrant!!!

I really enjoyed wearing these on my nails, although I had to be careful that my clothes didn't clash with them :)

Be back soon with my next 'Neon' post

RUSK Deep Shine Oil

This product by RUSK was one I had won a little while ago, so I must apologise for taking so long to tell you about it.

RUSK Deep Shine Oil is made with Pure Argan Oil and helps eliminate frizz by smoothing the cuticles of the hair. By using Deep Shine Oil your hair will become more manageable and incredibly shiny.

I'd used Argan Oil based products before and had found the smell a little strong and overpowering for me, however this one has quiet a soft scent. Although I can smell it on my hair it isn't so strong that I feel its the only fragrance I can smell.

After washing your hair simply apply a few drops onto the palm of your hands and rub together. Smooth your hands over your hair to distribute the oil evenly - avoiding the roots as this will make them greasy! Dry & style your hair as normal.

OR

Apply prior to using heated styling tools such as straightening irons or tongs. Smooth over your hair as described before and see the shine!!!

When I was sent this by RUSK I was also given some 5ml samples, which I gave to some of my clients. They all reported back to me that they loved the Oil, and said how much difference it had made to their hair. One even said her little bottle was like the 'tardis' and seemed to never end!!

I love it and so do my clients......must be good :)

Braided Topknot

I saw this image recently of Nichole Richie at the '9th Annual Style Awards'. Although I like this style, something just doesn't look right - I think its the fringe.
Online library photo.
This got the hairdresser in me thinking, so I decided to do a quick tutorial on how you can create this at home.

Step 1
Step 1 - Put clean, straightened hair into a high ponytail and secure with a hairband.

Step 2
Step 2 - Braid hair and secure with a small elastic hairband. Don't worry about any layers that poke out of the braid. You won't see these when finished.

Step 3
Step 3 - Wrap the braid around itself, creating a bun shape. Use Kirby grips (Bobby pins) to pin into place - at this point you can also pin into place any stray bits of hair. Spray over with a firm hold hairspray.

And there you have it.....a great alternative to the basic 'topknot'
Even us 'non-A-listers' can wear this style with ease

Doll Eyes

HYPNOSE Mascara By Lancome.

I'm always one for trying out a new mascara, in fact I don't know many people who stay with the same one every time......Hhmmm?

Anyway I'd noticed this one in the 'in-flight' magazine when travelling to the UK. Although I must confess I didn't buy it myself at the time. My husband purchased it for me on his way to the 'States' (isn't he good!!).

This mascara is said to add volume, lengthen, boost and coat every lash that results in a 'Doll Eye' look.

The brush is a good size so it does coat every lash in one application. I used my heated lash curlers after the first application and found it perfect, with no need to put a second coat on. HYPNOSE does exactly what it says, I had visibly longer lashes that appeared fuller and doll-like.

The only down side for me was that I ended up with dark smudges under my eyes half way through the day :(

Toddler Treats

This post is perhaps a little late in the year, but I have recently found it difficult to convince 'Little Miss' to eat fruit.

So while in the UK I popped into QD. I don't often go in there but you can find the odd gem if you're lucky. I found these cute little ice lolly makers for 99p so thought they may be worth a try.

I made Strawberry and Vanilla Lollies using them,
and here's how.....

Step 1
Step 1 - Blend around 8 large strawberries and half fill each section.

Step 2
Step 2 - Top the 'lollies' up with Vanilla yoghurt.

Step 3
Step 3 - Put the handles on and pop into the freezer to set.

Looking yummy already.....

I left these over night in the freezer before taking them out to eat. As you can see below, a) they worked (phew!) and b) I managed to get them out of the 'maker' without breaking them :)

You can use other seasonal fruits and flavoured yogurts to suit your taste.
Why not give it a go?

YSL Devoted to Fans

This is my newest and most favourite eyeshadow by YSL!

In July Yves Saint Laurent announced on their Facebook page that they had a limited number of the 'Devoted to Fans' Facebook Palette. I wrote a preview on this palette which you can see on HERE.

This palette includes four fabulous colours plus two double ended applicators, which can be used to apply these as they are or with water (which makes the colours more intense)

Dry Application
As you can see on the above image the colours are nice and vibrant without using water with them. The white has an iridescent pearly look to it and works really well when worn with the shimmery blue.
Below are the same colours as a 'wet' application.....they're much more intense now!

Wet Application
I'm very impressed with this eyeshadow palette. Having worn them for my brothers wedding, I found the colours had real staying power and looked great 'all' day!
Do you like YSL eyeshadows? If yes which is your favourite palette??

Daniel Galvin Junior

Please let me introduce the 'King Of Colour' Shampoo & Conditioner
by DGJ Organics.

These products have been developed to help maintain your (dyed) hair colour. Containing Cocoa Bean and Walnut these enhance the depth and shine of Auburn and Brunette hair.

I used both products over the course of 3 weeks and have to say the results were great. I had noticeable shine to my hair and felt my hair colour hadn't faded (considering the sunshine we've had). The fragrance was lovely and fresh, it reminded me of kiwi although I couldn't see it on the bottle!?

All in all these are well worth trying out and are not too expensive either :)

I'm just hoping my Mum won't have used it all up by the time I get back to her house in a few weeks!!!!

RRP £5.99 each

Fancy a change?

Several years ago I tried a heat sensitive nail polish (basically hot/cold). It was no surprise to find that you can now buy nail polish which reacts to sun light!

Blaze by Solar Active is a sun activated colour changing nail polish, which was very kindly sent to me by colourchanging.co.uk
This particular shade is 'Jubilee to Vino'.

These can be worn on their own, or as a topcoat over a colour nail polish. For the purpose of my review I've used it on its own.

Start colour - Jubilee
Above is the start colour.
As you can see its a little yellowy when being used alone. I've applied 3 coats of polish to build the colour up. Plus I prefer lots a glitter rather then a tiny amount :)

'In-between' colour
The next image is what I would describe as my 'in-between' photo. You can see the colour has become more orange.

Final colour - Vino
The final photo shows the 'changed' colour which is a lovely red shade. When the polish changes to this colour it looses all translucence, and now you can no longer see the whites of my natural nails.

The colour(s) will continue to react with Sun light throughout the day, changing between various shades 'in tune' with the varying UV levels.....very cool :)

A great way to stand out from the day-to-day crowd, and wonderful for a sunny holiday!

The wait is over......

It has arrived....

What am I talking about?
None other than The Germany Collection by OPI.

I've been waiting patiently for confirmation this collection was available to buy and I am not disappointed in the slightest!!

Having spent some considerable time mulling over which colours to buy I ended up with 3 full size bottles of polish plus the mini collection
(making 7 colours in total)

My obsession with lipgloss continues.....

...but this time in the form of L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine Fresh.

The 'Fresh' range of Glam Shine lipgloss are enriched with vitamins C and E that moisturize your lips. And the tear shaped applicator makes it super easy to apply without having to reach for your mirror. I can't say I've noticed the 'lip-plumping effect' that is claimed on the bottle, but its just one of those things I guess.

The shade is called Aqua Mandarin 187

Although the lipgloss is orange in the bottle, when you put it on it does go very clear, so no worries about odd coloured lips! I have several of the Glam Shine lipglosses, and this is one of my favourites - mainly due to it not containing any shimmer or sparkle.

Its a great 'day' lipgloss and is highly recommended.
So why not try one and see if you like them as much as I do.

OPI Outrageous Neons

This is one of OPI's newest mini collections that was launched in August.

"Outrageous Neons" contains a White Base coat, 4 Neon shades and a Top Coat for a super shiny finish.

Above you can see all four shades.
From Left to right you have....
....Ridiculously Yellow, Formidably Orange, Riotously Pink and
Seriously Purple

Its important to use the White Base coat, as the colours don't look as great without it (as I found out). These don't stain your cuticles either when removing the colour.

These are awesome and really do give you that 'bright summer feeling' when wearing them.

I'll be back soon with these colours featured as 'Nails of the day' so you can see them in more depth.

KME TOP TIP -
If you run out of  White Base Coat then apply one coat of OPI Alpine Snow, this will give you the same finish.....tried & tested!

Clinique Chubby Stick 'Chunky Cherry'

Recently I won (yes I'm at it again!) a Clinique Chubby Stick. This is the second colour from the collection and I'm really fond of them. To read my last Chubby Stick review click HERE.

This is called Chunky Cherry and as you can see from my pictures it looks very red. Don't be put off by this, as this Chubby Stick enhances your natural lip colour, while adding a moisturising gloss.

I'm loving this colour right now and have found it very versatile. You can dress it up with dramatic eye makeup or down with a quick coat of mascara.
