Garnier Ultimate Blends - The Marvellous Transformer Collection

Garnier Ultimate Blends Collection of Shampoos, Conditioners and treatments are fairly new to the market. I was lucky enough to have the chance of trying out a set just before their release, although our house move prevented me getting a full review up until now.

I was given The Marvellous Transformer box set to try out. This particular one is specifically designed for dry, dull hair; containing Moroccan Argan Oil and Japanese Camellia Oil, both of which leave the hair feeling squeaky clean and super soft.

First up is The Marvellous Transformer Shampoo and Conditioner, the perfect combination for nourishing your hair and leaving it looking super shiney. The Shampoo lathers very well so you’ll only need a small amount of product; after one wash my hair felt extremely fresh and clean. The lightweight conditioner was a little on the runny side, however I found it detangled my hair with ease.
Meanwhile, The Marvellous Glow Oil works not only as a UV filter for the hair, but also as a heat protecting oil. Use before styling to protect the hair from heat up to 230 oC. It’s also perfect ‘post styling’  to add a finishing glossy touch.

Personally I found (after using these exclusively for a week) that I had noticeably softer, shinier, healthier looking hair. Oh and lets not forget the fragrance of these products! Well this is a little hard to describe. You can smell the Argan Oil but it’s not overpowering at all, maybe because there is a slight floral scent in it too. Either way it’s delightful :)

Have you tried these yet? I’d love to know what you think x

IsaDora Cosmetics 'Creamy Nude' Palette

This pretty eyeshadow palette by IsaDora Cosmetics is perfect for creating a soft spring look.

This palette, named ‘Creamy Nudes‘, contains five gorgeous colours; four pastel soft shades and one darker grey. All the colours in the ‘Creamy Nudes‘ palette have a slightly creamy texture to them; none are chalky. They are very easy to work with and blend into each other, making them ideal for creating a spring smokey eye.
The palette did come with a double-ended sponge applicator, which I seem to have misplaced. However, I find these work very well with a good quality eyeshadow brush; Crown, Nanshy or Real Techniques to name drop a few ;)
These last very well throughout the day and would last even longer with an eye primer underneath. I think my favourite colours from the ‘Creamy Nudes‘ palette have to be the pink and the grey shadows, although they are all great shades for the spring.

"Organix Shampoo & Conditioner"

Here's another of my travel size treats that I picked up on my last visit to the UK.

Let me introduce......
Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner

With a combination of coconut milk, coconut oil, and egg white proteins, these are designed to be weightless on the hair. The gentle cleansers also help to hydrate and nourish your hair as they wash away impurities.
I can also tell you that they are safe to use on colour treated hair, and will not cause fading.

After using both products for the past week, I can safely say I wish I had bought bigger bottles! I always shampoo my hair twice (hairdresser habit) and found the second shampoo lathered up alot more then the first. The conditioner was ever so soft on my hair, and I had very little trouble combing* my hair through after washing it.

I particularly loved how I still had a hint of coconut on my hair after 24 hours - reminds me of being on holiday.....I love the smell :)

A great buy!!

RRP £1.99 each (89ml bottles)
Sulfate Free / Paraben Free

DIOR - Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

Dior’s Miss Dior Blooming Boutique is a beautiful soft floral fragrance…..perfect for that touch of spring.

It’s delicate and light fragrance contains Sicilian Orange essence, Peony and Damask Rose, finished off with a hint of white musk. The main smell that comes through to my nose is the Damask Rose with a bit of musk. I’m not overly fond of musky smells but to me its so slight, it’s not at all overpowering!
This fragrance is perfect for daily wear, not a very strong perfume but it has lasting power and doesn’t need to be reapplied during the day.

Dior says this is “a fragrance that embodies the spirit of Miss Dior in a light version for young and irresistibly seductive women”. I say “its spring in a bottle, light and floral”.

The bottle is stunning. I love Dior’s styling of their perfumes and this one is incredibly girly. Firstly the perfume is pale pink in colour, then you have the bow detailing, which is silver plated. It makes the bottle look lovely and deserves to be displayed on a dressing table.

Have you tried Miss Dior Blooming Boutique?
What do you think of it??

Throwback Thursday #7

I couldn't resist making a purchase in Luton Airports Duty-Free on my last visit back to the UK!

I'd been looking on the YSL website at the Singulier mascara in Deep Green. However, after finding it was out of stock (and has been for several months now) I gave up hope of finding a good quality green!
Pictured is the NEW YSL Shocking Mascara, which comes in Jade Black. This is a very dark green shade, maybe you could even say khaki green. With a specially designed brush, that has multi-directional bristles to coat every lash.

I found the brush a little on the big side to start with. Every time I took the brush out of the bottle it had far too much product on, leaving me with very thick, clumpy lashes. I've since mastered my application with the help of a lash comb. This has separated my lashes and removed the excess product. So now I really enjoy wearing it :-)

YSL Shocking Mascara comes in 6 shades of 'Black'
(Deep, Bronze, Cherry, Ashy, Sea and Jade)

RRP £23

He-Shi Rapid 1 Hour Liquid Tan

Many of you know how much I love He-Shi so I don’t need to tell you how excited I was when I discovered they now do a Rapid 1 Hour tan lotion!!

He-Shi Rapid 1 Hour Tan Liquid can only be described as a 3 in 1 product where you control how dark your tan goes.  Here is some information from He-Shi about this fabulous liquid -

“He-Shi Rapid 1 Hour Liquid Tan, with its unique time development accelerators, tans on contact giving an instant golden colour and will provide finished results within 60 minutes. With its quick drying and 'see where it goes' formula you can be confident of not developing streaks or patches. Made from 100% natural DHA and is an odourless, paraben free formulation with the addition of Pentavitin® for superior instant, long lasting moisturisation and Vitamin E for advanced anti-ageing properties.”

This self-tanning liquid is easy to apply over clean dry skin using the He-Shi Tanning Mitt and is suitable for the entire body, including the face.  Like all self-tanning products, He-Shi advise you do not moisturise before application. Smooth evenly over the face and body using sweeping movements; do not rub this into the skin as you’ll remove the liquid before it has chance to soak in and end up patchy - not pretty!! Then allow 2 minute before you dress; I normally put loose fitting clothes on.

The main selling point for the He-Shi Rapid 1 Hour Tan Liquid has to be the time it takes to develop the tan. For a golden glow they advice you leave it on for 60 minutes. I found this gave me a soft glow to my skin, a bit like using these gradual tan moisturisers (just faster results). Leaving it on for 2 hours gives you a dark golden tan and if you have time you can leave it on for 3-4 hours to develop an ultra dark golden tan.

For this time of the year I found 2 ½ hours just right. My skin looked golden and sun-kissed but not too tanned. I’ll top it up in around 7 days and I think I’ll get away with leaving it to develop for 1 hour as I’d like to maintain the colour rather than go darker.  I’ll do a little update note at the bottom of this post once I have topped up my tan and let you know what I think.

Have you tried any He-Shi products?

"Toddler Treats"

This post is perhaps a little late in the year, but I have recently found it difficult to convince 'Little Miss' to eat fruit.

So while in the UK I popped into QD. I don't often go in there but you can find the odd gem if you're lucky. I found these cute little ice lolly makers for 99p so thought they may be worth a try.

I made Strawberry and Vanilla Lollies using them,
and here's how.....

Step 1
Step 1 - Blend around 8 large strawberries and half fill each section.

Step 2
Step 2 - Top the 'lollies' up with Vanilla yoghurt.

Step 3
Step 3 - Put the handles on and pop into the freezer to set.

Looking yummy already.....

I left these over night in the freezer before taking them out to eat. As you can see below, a) they worked (phew!) and b) I managed to get them out of the 'maker' without breaking them :)

You can use other seasonal fruits and flavoured yogurts to suit your taste.
Why not give it a go?

"PolkaDot Nail Tutorial"

I'd been thinking about producing some more tutorials, and put this one together to demonstrate how easy it is do to 'polka dot' nail art.

All you need is;

** A 'dotting tool' or kirby grip/bobby pin (examples pictured below)

** Two Nail polishes. I've used OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! as my base colour, and OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons as my 'polka dot' colour.

**Base Coat & Top Coat.

To start with you just paint your nails as normal, but don't apply Top Coat until you've done your 'polka dots'.

Next put a blob of your 'polka dot' nail polish on some paper/card to work from.

All you have to do now is dip the doting tool into the polish and carefully place it on the nail where you would like your 'polka dot' to be - and repeat.

Once dry apply Top Coat.

I hope you have found this tutorial helpful.....I'll be back soon with more!
