Little Princess Trust - Hair Donation

Who are Little Princess Trust?

We provide real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment. As a result of treatment for cancer, most children will suffer hair loss as a side effect.  Some boys and girls cope remarkably well but for others this can be very upsetting. We work with specialist suppliers and experienced hairdressers who offer wigs tailored to the individual child’s needs to give the most realistic look and feel, as close as possible to their original hair.  We strive to put parents/guardians in contact with suppliers as local as possible.

The Little Princess Trust is a children’s cancer charity and our mission is to supply real-hair wigs to children suffering with cancer, for the duration of their treatment.  However, in addition we assist children with other conditions which also result in hair loss, the most common being alopecia.  Our commitment to these children is different.  Despite being set up to help children with cancer, the Trust is able to supply children that do not have a cancer diagnosis with one wig.  Whilst we are unable to commit to supplying more than one wig to each child, we hope that this gesture will help the family whilst they decide on their long-term plans for dealing with this condition.
What can you do?
Donate your hair! My friend Michelle (who lives in Switzerland) has been growing her hair for this very reason. Michelle contacted me a with a challenge -  to cut her hair off! I'm always up for a challenge and when she explained what it was for I jumped at the chance to be involved. Michelle is due to arrive in England in a week or so, and will be heading to our area to a) see her closest friend Helen (who is the person who introduced Michelle and I), and b) to have her hair cut off. I'll be sure to post before and after pictures.
Please head over to Michelle's sponsor page. While having such a large amount of hair cut off she has decided to also raising money for Cancer Research
